IT & cloud
engineering.
I'm Navya — an IT student at University of Cincinnati, currently working as a TA and serving as treasurer of the AWS Student Builder Group at UC. I like building things and figuring out how they work.

About
Infrastructure, cloud, and a bit of design — I work across the stack.
I'm studying Information Technology at UC (Software Application Development + Data Technologies), graduating May 2029. Over the past year I've been working as a TA helping run networking labs, and before that I spent two semesters co-oping at a school district doing sysadmin work — managing devices, deploying Security Onion, and keeping things running.
I also co-oped at a startup on the design side, which gave me some useful context on how the people using systems actually experience them.
Right now I'm focused on cloud — working through AWS certifications, building some projects, and helping get the AWS Student Builder Group at UC off the ground.
Experience
Real jobs, real systems, real impact.

- Built and maintained reusable UI components within a design system for visual and functional consistency
- Collaborated with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to refine UX through iterative feedback
IT Co-op
Rossford Exempted Village School District — Rossford, OH
- Administered user accounts, Group Policy, and access permissions in Active Directory across Windows workstations
- Configured and deployed Linux-based Security Onion to monitor TCP/IP network traffic, analyze alerts, and support threat detection
- Resolved 20+ help-desk tickets weekly — troubleshooting hardware, software, and networking issues
- Managed and maintained 300+ devices: imaging, software deployment, hardware repair, and system upgrades
Projects
Things I've built — from hackathons to production lab infrastructure.
[ live ]
FixMate
React platform connecting users with local service providers. Built the full front-end and contributed to the architecture during a hackathon. Deployed to Vercel within 24 hours using GitHub Copilot to accelerate iteration.

Deployment Bags
Portable networking lab infrastructure built collaboratively with a fellow TA and faculty — 4 switches, 5 Raspberry Pis, 12 endpoints. I contributed the setup runbooks, Docker game server deployment, UFW firewall config, and troubleshooting guides written for non-technical users.
[ in progress ]
AWS SBG Club Website
Designing and building the landing page for the AWS Student Builder Group at UC — event listings, responsive layout, dark terminal aesthetic.
[ in progress ]
Portfolio Site
This site — built with HTML/CSS and deployed via GitHub Pages with a custom domain (navyagupta.me) through Namecheap DNS.
[ in progress ]
Custom VPC from Scratch
Multi-subnet VPC with public/private tiers, IGW, NAT gateway, route tables, and security groups — the physical lab network I run for students, rebuilt in AWS.
[ coming soon ]
Infrastructure as Code — Terraform
Rebuilding the VPC project in Terraform with remote state in S3 and DynamoDB locking. Reproducible infrastructure, version-controlled.
Certifications
Working through the AWS certification path.
